The Clubs

The MCC is composed of ten cultural clubs. Though the clubs focus on their specific cultures, anyone from any background can join the clubs! Stop by their weekly general meetings in Shapell Lounge, across from the Student Bookstore, and join in on the fun. Listed below are the clubs and a little blurb about them. Click on the individual club names to visit their Facebook pages for more information. 

Meets Wednesdays at 6:35pm

Igwebuike (AKA Igwe) represents and celebrates Pan-African culture and strives to promote unity and share Pan-Africanism. Through social, cultural and educational programs, Igwebuike shares its culture with the greater campus as well as the surrounding community, to attract support and interest in exploring the Pan-African identity.

The mission of Barkada of Santa Clara University is to promote the awareness of the Filipino culture and community on the SCU campus through education, networking, and social activities/events, while upholding its heritage, traditions, and relationships.

Intandesh serves to promote social and educational awareness of South Asian countries and cultures through bonding events, cultural celebrations, community service, education, and supportive relationships.

Meets Mondays at 6:35pm

The Japanese Student Association(JSA) celebrates Japanese heritage while striving to promote education and awareness of this unique and ever changing culture in the Santa Clara community.Through cultural presentations and events, JSA aims to create deeper understandings of Japan’s rich history and contemporary environment and share a slice of Japan with the Santa Clara university student body.

M.E.Ch.A stands for Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan. M.E.Ch.A - El Frente's purpose is to raise cultural awareness through community outreach programs and social events on and off campus, as well as to uphold social, educational and political consciousness within the SCU Latinx population.

The Vietnamese Student Association serves to promote unity among students and promote the appreciation for cultural diversity at school, to uphold and honor the Vietnamese cultures and traditions, and to assimilate with the essence of other cultures and support the MCC.

KSA 2018-2019 Board 

Meets Thursdays 6:35pm

The purpose of Korean Student Association (KSA) shall be to unify students of Santa Clara University that identify ethnically as Korean while promoting Korean traditions and heritage to students who are interested in exploring and learning Korean culture.

The mission of KSA shall be consistent with the mission and values of Santa Clara University.

Ka Mana’o 'O Hawai’i serves to promote fellowship among students of Hawai'i and students interested in the culture of Hawai'i at SCU. We strive to create an awareness, understanding, and appreciation of the local and Native Hawaiian culture within the university community.

APSU aims to promote fellowship and unity among Asian Pacific Islander students and those interested in API cultures through social and cultural activities. We aim to promote awareness, understanding, and appreciation of API identities, heritages and cultures.

Our organization aims to educate about diversity, and encourage a further understanding of Chinese and Asian culture through social events, community service, and activities that we provide to all students of Santa Clara University.
